Orthotics
As your feet are the foundation of your body, you want to make sure yours feel great! At our practice, we offer customized orthotics.
What Are They?
Orthotics are custom shoe or heel inserts that a doctor prescribes to treat different biomechanical foot issues. Orthotics can address problems with how you walk, stand or run. Here are some of the common conditions that orthotics address:
- Heel and arch pain
- Plantar fasciitis
- High arches
- Flat feet
- Bunions
- Shin splints
- Overpronation
We’ll first provide a gait assessment, including a gait scan on the gait plate, and foot exam. Many people have high arches or dropped arches or a problem in the forefoot.
Dr. Brian will check to see how well the joints and little muscles are working and what we need to correct the problem.
Please allow 30 minutes for this appointment.
We will have you come back for a four-week follow-up appointment with Dr. Brian to see if there are any modifications we have to do to your orthotics or if you have any questions or concerns. Feel free to come back sooner than that if you’re experiencing an issue.
Then, we will have you come in every six months to do an evaluation to see how you’re progressing. We will determine if the orthotics need to be replaced in a year.
During these follow-up appointments, we’ll not only look at your orthotics but also how your foot is changing-how the muscle and joints are improving.
